| locating a transmission for my truck. its killin me that its just sittin collectin dust rt now. here is my dilemma.... i have checked at local junk yards w/ no luck, i have checked w/ autozone, pepboys etc. and they dont even list the 2wd trans for my truck, but they list a 4wd one...go figure. what im lookin for is a 88-89 2wd 5spd transmission for a d50/mitsu mighty max.
i have located one in sanford, but the guy seems to be takin his sweet time on gettin it out of his truck, so i can pick it up. other than that im having zero luck finding a replacement one.
why not use the one i have now and rebuild it? the best we can figure as of now is that the bearings went on the inside, dropped the shaft, locked up the gears and cracked the case. when it locked up on me, it shut my truck off on the highway, had to restart it in neutral, thats when i realized id lost 1st- 5th gear. not to mention u could see tranny fluid all down I-10. however, on a bright side my garage floor doesnt have tranny fluid leaked all over it lol.
so if any of u guys come across one, please lemme know asap. this is pretty much the one thing stoppin me rt now from finishin it out. cuz im not gonna flintstone this truck everywhere. and im def not haulin a car trailer behind the minivan. lol | |

| we were tossin the idea of a v6 or v8 swap but my buddy talked me into keepin my orig. motor. mainly for the fact that it gets like 35-37miles a gallon. in addition, to the fact that we just rebuilt it last yr and painted and polished it. | |
