| well i thought i had it almost whooped in first paint job i put on it, but it had some flaws and i suppose i may of rushed some of it. not sure if many of you may remember how the old paint was when i did it about 2 months ago, i had a set of doeskin tan flames & some HOK orion silver flames shootin down the truck seperating the black & blue two-tone. me and my bud ryan laid the flames out and sprayed the silver first, so in that case i had to tape up the silver to spray down the tan and then tape them up to spray either of the bottom or top colors, well i ran into a problem when i taped the silver up & i couldnt tell it really until i sprayed the clear on it.... im guessing it was humidity or something maybe one of yall might know. when i taped it the tape made an impression of the silver basecoat of all the texture of the tape if you know what i mean, and it had some other flaws in the 1/8 pinstriping around the flames from how i did the pinstripes, looked like peices of tack cloth were stuck in the sides of the pinstripes....haha to say the least i was pretty upset, so i sanded & blocked it all back down and sealed that beotch!! lol heres some pics from the first go around me spraying the tan this was right before the clear went on the next day after the above picture so now me and some buds of mine have decided to change it up a bit and not do the two-tone of the flames like that, doing a full tribal down the truck with just one set of flames twisting through the tribal all starting from about the front fender. The whole truck is going to be the same color blue, and the tribal is going to be in a HOK kandy burple, flames are going to be black with green pinstriping still and some devil tails to add to it some. and alot of airbrushing in the tribal, just some sprokets, gears, & some sick ass skulls all hidden behind the kandy!! heres what i have on it so far, hopefully ill have it in clear by tomorrow night and out the shop by friday to wetsand & reclear one last time & then buff it. this is the center on the tailgate where the tribal ends this is pretty much where its at now, green for the pinstripes sprayed & fineline over it ready to spray the black oh yeah sorry for the essay i wrote about it all haha | |

You should probably try an inter-coat clear between all of your base steps before masking. If your using an kind of metalic you will deff want to inter-coat clear because tape will pull up big metallics, especially kandy bases. Cant wait to see the finished product! | |

| im witht he one that said to use the inercoat clear in between. Its just clear base but gives you a barrier in between coats so if somethin were to be messed up you can fix it without redoin everything. Its lookin badass tho. 2 thumbs up | |
