| Got pulled over for not having my front license plate on my Ram, so I decided I need to put it on, and on my Dakota too, so I'm debating on doing something sneaky..
Looking to see who's done any power license plate set ups up front..
Debating on buying a power license plate kit personally, but wanna see if anyone has done anything cheaper/more creative...
I was thinking putting the top of the license plate on a hinge, and making a clip top mount on the back, hit a button, solenoid pulls out pin, and licene plate falls..
Same Idea with a Choke cable to push n pull it in/out
Or on a rail system, where it drops down in a track..
Post up what you got! | |

| Maybe just glue some magnets to the plate (good magnets, rare earth) and just slap it on the front like that especially for the daily. For the Ram I would really just suggest bolting it on, it's not worth the trouble. The last thing you need is to give a cop one more excuse to pull you over
eg. you are following someone, you both are speeding, cop will pull you over instead of him for the simple fact that he can make more money off you if the guy in front of you has a plate on the front of his truck.
It's not worth the effort. | |

| how would the avs one work? it only slides up or down. i tink he wants somethin that will slide forward and flip the plate to make it visable. i would also be interested in somethin like that since ive been pulled over 3 times for not puttin my plate back on the front bumper after shows | |

| I got pulled for front plate when crossing stop light, cop got out of his turn pane to go where I was coming from and the lights came on! Mind you, cruising the main drag low as fuck and the intersection crests just enough to drag...I thought he was going to be all over me. Fix it ticket, 10 bucks. Later got another front plate fix it in same town parked over night!! WTF! it was then time for vanity plates so then at least the front plate was personalized. The po po don't care if it's in the windshield | |

| I wouldnt go with the AVS unit. Just big and bulky. kinda cheap too. all it is is a power antenna welded to a ball bearing track. Just a pain in the ass. I did one in the top of the back bumper of a honda civic and it barely fit behind/under the body kit bumper. I agree with the magnets idea, mabye with some thin fabric on them so they dont scratch your paint. Front plate laws are dumb. | |

| I'm a member on SilveradoSS.com also and one of the members there made a retractable front license plate. Here is the link for that, and a short video of his setup. This might be what your looking for.
