I forgot about the Rebels, those have video and run in the 800 range.
It really depends on what you want to shoot. if you are just doing it for yourself, car shows, family pics or whatever, go for a rebel, the bigger bodies like the 20,30, 40 and 50d's are made more for the professional photographers, they have better iso handling, faster shutter speeds, the control layouts are easier to work on the fly.
Just so you know, the dslr video isnt as easy as using a video camera, it takes some work and doesnt have auto focus, you have to manual focus everything, but the end results blows traditional video away.
