I have a 2000 and a 2004 and both have 2 piece driveshafts. Maybe it depends on the engine/trans combo. My 99 in my avatar had a 2 piece when i got it.

I know for a fact that josh swapped in the two piece on your 99. I'm not sure about the 4 cyl rangers but every 3.O and 4.0L has a one piece.

The other 2 I have are 4 bangers, may be onto something there. My 99 is a 3.0 and was clunking, so I ditched the 2 piece. Wonder why he swapped in a 2 piece, the 1 piece has plenty of travel between the shaft and extension housing?

Mines a 2.9 v6 and it has a 2 piece drive shaft.

Matts 3.0 has a two piece in it right now. We don't know if the guy took the one piece out. but we need to know what year model and package the Exploder is to get the right drive shaft???

If its an automatic with a 4r44e or 5r55e trans, the 91-02 2wd auto explorer is the driveshaft in question.

On a side note if his is clunking you can pull the driveshaft and grease the 2 sections, stick it back together, and it will be good for a while.

What motor and trans is in it?

i got the 3.0v6 with auto trans. its making noise at the torque convertor.
