anyone have experience with this? its a 1999 f150 , do you really have to disconnect the battery so the air bag wont blow?

Does it have a fuse for the airbag? May be able to just get away with pullin that.

Another thing, I bought this steering column, and it has a lock on the adapter... Can't figure out how to take it off the ididit column to put it on my stock column...I can't find anything on the adaptor, no markings or anything to google info on taking it off!!! hELP!taking driver steering wheeloff?? Image22this big Allen bolt is the one I'm trying to take off, I believe if it comes off I can take the adaptor off right!?!?

Is there a trick to locking the comlumn so it doesnt spin so I can jack that bolt off? problem is it keeps spinning ...

Disconnect the battery and wait at least a half hour. The capacitor somtimes hold a charge long enough to deploy them if you don't wait a while.

you may be able to use an oil filtes wrench the belt type to hold the outer part so you can take the allen bolt off

Oil filter wrench is a good idea! I tried holding it with my hand....no bueno!
