sheet metal bed floor

well after thinking about my budget, i decided to sheet metal my bed floor myself. can anyone give me some help? ive never done it before so any tips, ideas or pictures of the process would be awesome. thanks guys, getting started tomorrow!!

put a sheet of plywood in it and call it done.you can also linex over the ply.just my 2cents.

and if you wanna stop by on the way to his house im right on the way and i can measure it a couple of times and then eugene can measure it some....but there wont be any beer left though haha


youll figure it out, i didnt really know what to go by but its pretty simple nothing to bad how are you going to plan to do it? skeleton the floor or using stock existing floor as a frame for the metal?

actually mine is done with ply wood and linex

skeliton the existing floor and rais it a few inches. more help please lol

my 2 cents would have to be to take ur time welding, u dont want any warpage. warpage is bad, very bad.

cody, i think your moving too fast.that shit takes skill to do.i dont want you to fuck nothing up.you need to research this a lil more.

depends.... are u just doin the floor? are u doin the whole inside of the bed, up to the bedrails?

it would be hard to leave the paint with doing it like that though if your wanting to mold to the bedsides like that, but thats gunna look damn good! i likes it, and it shouldnt really be to tough

you may be able to do it without messing up your paint if you go from the bottom lip of the inside of the bed but i think your gonna have to at least repaint the tops of the bedsides any other way .
