Compressor Question Empty
PostSubject: Compressor Question   Compressor Question EmptyWed Jan 06, 2010 7:01 pm

I know the ins and outs of using York/York style EDC. I have a different a/c compressor that works real well that I wanna try. What precautions do I need to take to use it? I know you gotta keep oil in it, do you just use a/c oil? Will the oil have any negative effects on the valves? I don't have and can't afford a York right now. i'll eventually switch but for now i'd like to make this one work if I can. Any info would help. Thanx.

shouldn't have any effect on the valves as long as you have a good water/oil separator in line after the compressor....

as long as it didn't use the freon to cool it you'll be fine with any kind that is designed to use oil. and like chris said just run a good separator downstream of it. most guys i know just run air tool oil in them but i know certain brands have specified oils to run.
