| Next up figure out hood and frt bumper, more body work (clean up the rockers), disk brake the rear, redo the bed floor, then off to the paint booth. Wheels when my broke ass can afford it. | |

| Anyone have any tips for the hood? Or how to get a 4.0 under the hood with the body drop? | |

I have the 3.0 and an Edge hood and even with dropping the throttle body down 2" I still cant shut my hood.. only person I have ever seen with a stock hood is the PMA Ranger and they sectioned the oil pan and lowered the engine as well as relocated the throttle body

| I believe Dougie's hood is stock, with a 3.0 and bodied. I hate cowl hoods, but I hate a hole in the hood even more
Can anyone suggest a cowl hood? I can't find one. OR I'm I glassing my own?

| Dougies is an edge hood with the guts cut out the 4.0 is a taller motor and the idle air control valve is the tallest part. I've seen 3.0Ls fit under a stock hood but never an OHV 4.0L | |

| Wasn't Dougies engine lowered as well? How much extra clearance is there if you cut up the underside of an edge hood?

| Small update....It runs fine again. When I picked it up from my friends place (where we did the body work), It wouldn't start. Ran fine when we brought it over, a month later, needed a new fuel pump, AGAIN.
I pick up my tools from my rental property this weekend, so hopefully things start happening. Im considering an Edge hood, then doing a small, really tight cutout for the engine. Then detail and paint the exposed areas. Only problem is the top of these 4.0s are a mess, can't really figure out how to make it all look prutty

| Doug's engined was lowered, believe they went into the cradle even and he was running an edge hood. That would be my suggestion, the edge hood looks great anyways | |

| You can get a engine cover from an explorer 4.0 and mod it to cover the top of the engine to pretty it up..there are a couple step by steps on the net for it...
