floor ideas for sound deadening

ok right now i ahve the oportunity to get some deadening material down before i lay the carpet.... i want to do dynomat and such but moneys a lil tight have any of you used like rubberized undercoating or like bedliner( herculiner or rhino linering type stuf)f to lay on floor before threw carpet down??? should i do it???

You could use foil backed chiminney flashing. It works like a charm and is cheap too. You can get it at your local Lowes or Home Depot.

not to thick but enough to deaden sound... i know they make carpet backing too but wanted something else sort of want to double up on it

this stuff is really similar to dynomat oe whatever u call it...not exactly the same, but it would work. Put a good layer of jute over it should be good to go.
