| putting on 2 wheel drive spindles, just makes your truck a 2wd Edge with useless 4x4 stuff hanging off the frame, (Thought you wanted to keep it functional) and anyhow I have yet to see a Edge Ranger bagged that was lower than a static dropped Ranger (that didnt have the front clip swapped anyhow)
... using the knock off shockwaves from AIM will still limit how much travel you will get since you are still going to lay out on the huge engine cross member and keep you from being any lower than a static dropped Ranger. Another thing you have to consider is if you keep the 4 wheel drive and do the shock waves, is there is a chance that the shafts will slide out of the differential if you have to much drop or lift? and I am not so sure how the shock waves will work with torsion bar front suspension... usually the bag replaces the torsion bar on the lower arm...
My point is , to lay any lower than a static dropped ranger isnt possible while keeping 4 wheel drive. even getting rid of 4 wheel drive you arent going to be lower than a static drop...
and how important is heat and ac to you? because if you do a 3 1/2" Z to get down lower on 20's you are going to lose the heater box and ac compressor I am pretty sure...and the brake booster has to be swapped out for a smaller one or relocated...and the ABS will have to be relocated as well as the battery since you are going to have to cut out all the inner fender well stuff....I forgot about the fusebox and the plugs in the fire wall, all that will have to be relocated and about 100 wires lengthened to re route all that stuff.
That last list of stuff can be avoided pretty much on a 2wd ranger which only needs a 2" Z...that extra 1 1/2" makes for a lot of extra work... and lets not forget replacing the hood with a large cowl hood to clear the engine and rebuilding the tranny tunnel since doing a Z raises all of that up... | |

| Just saw someone else from Maryland here... thought I would come through and say whatsup.
I agree 4-wheel drive would be great to have for Maryland winters, but a bagged daily just isn't a great idea here. Sadly, the best advice in this thread is to start over with a 2wd truck...
Other good advice is to come out to shows and hang out if you want to get in a club. I am not in Acro, but I have some very good friends that are and we all hang out and travel together and meet up on the weekends and shit. Its a bit of a hike from St. Marys County, but if you want to even get to prospect status, you gotta hang out for a few months and get to know the people.
